Bringing young imaginations off the page
Every child has ideas that only they could invent: mystical creatures, imaginary worlds, and wonderfully unexpected stories.
Budding DaVinci helps families bring those ideas into everyday life. We use a gentle touch of AI to polish a child's drawing while keeping its original personality, then transform it into something tangible that families can use, carry, and treasure.
Our mission is to help children see that their creations can become something real and that technology can be their magic wand. When their drawing appears on a canvas tote or another everyday object, we hope they feel proud, surprised, and inspired to keep creating.
How Budding DaVinci began
Hi, I'm Wendy Xue, the founder of Budding DaVinci.
I started Budding DaVinci as a creative outlet. In my professional life, I was a product manager building AI software designed to catch bad guys, such as fraudsters stealing other people's money. I enjoyed solving difficult problems, but I also wanted to create something fun and artistic. I have a six-year-old and a four-year-old. This creative pair has made so many cool drawings that I would love to show off to the world without bringing a stack of paper.
There are plenty of shops on Etsy that offer custom-printed keepsakes. However, every time I tried to print my kids' drawings on something, I had to send a photo in a message without knowing whether I would get a preview before paying. The experience was just clunky. So I began a personal experiment: could I build something meaningful for my family that could also help other parents? Could I help families see their children's artwork on practical things they would be proud to carry, all within a few minutes? I also wanted to see what one person could create with a team of AI agents.
That experiment became Budding DaVinci, a place where technology supports creativity without replacing it. The child remains the artist. The parent is a design partner. AI simply helps families explore what their artwork could become.
We are all budding Da Vincis
I think every creative child is a budding Da Vinci: curious, imaginative, and full of ideas waiting to take shape.
I want to be a budding Da Vinci too. I'm learning how to create, invent, and build things I have never made before. Budding DaVinci is part of my journey, and I hope it can be part of your family's creative journey as well.
Let's keep imagining, making, and bringing wonderful ideas to life.
